Discover Amvrakikos is a project developed in collaboration with the Non-Profit Company “Greek Cultural Routes”, aiming to highlight the Amvrakikos Gulf as an integrated landscape of nature, culture, and local activity.
The project focuses on the digital documentation, visualization, and mapping of the wider region, creating a comprehensive digital guide that connects natural ecosystems, cultural heritage, and modern forms of sustainable tourism.
This is not a fragmented approach: the Amvrakikos is viewed as a continuous, perimeter landscape, encompassing the lagoons and river mouths of Arta and Preveza, as well as the coastal and inland areas of Vonitsa and Amfilochia.
From birdwatching and local gastronomy, to limnic traditions and major archaeological sites — such as Nikopolis, Byzantine Arta, and the fortified settlement of Orraon — the Amvrakikos Gulf emerges as a layered cultural and ecological map, ready to be discovered through experience.
