The Mount Olympus Project is one of the core initiatives of Escape Greece, aiming to highlight the Mythical Mountain as a global destination of natural and cultural significance. Beginning with the first photographic recordings in the early 1990s and spanning more than 25 years, the project has developed into a rich and unique archive.
The collection includes photographic albums, travel guides, posters, calendars, notebooks, exhibitions, and publications, as well as material from numerous ascents and presentations. It is continuously enriched with new perspectives and contemporary techniques: aerial and ground video, 360° photography and video, time lapse, hyper lapse, star trail, and night sky photography.
The project’s goal is to present Mount Olympus not only as a landscape of unparalleled natural beauty, but also as a place with profound cultural and historical depth, connecting photography, publishing, and new technologies with the experience of the traveler and the researcher.
